Traverse City Has the Perfect Place for Everyone
While we’re proud to have your Traverse City wine and beer tour needs covered, a lot of our guests ask us where they should stay during their Traverse City getaway. Choosing between all of the amazing hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts in and around Traverse City is far too difficult for us to do, so we decided to put together a short list of places to stay for you to check out for yourself.
Bed and Breakfasts in Traverse City
Neahtawanta Inn and Retreat Center
Located about five miles out onto the Old Mission Peninsula, Neahtawanta Inn and Retreat Center is an excellent place to getaway. It’s has a quiet, tranquil setting that’s perfect for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet. If you’re a yoga enthusiast, don’t miss out on the opportunity to take part in outdoor classes all summer long. They also have a beautiful yoga studio indoors for less than perfect days. Room rates are incredibly affordable, and you can rent the entire Inn for corporate retreats. Surrounded by the many vineyards on the peninsula, and it’s truly incredible place to stay on the Old Mission Peninsula.
Old Mission Inn
A few miles north on Old Mission Peninsula is Traverse City’s oldest hotel. Old Mission Inn was built in 1869 and is one of the many historical landmarks in the area. Located very near the northern-most point on Old Mission, guests enjoy a breathtaking drive to arrive at the Inn, and more stunning views during their stay, as East Bay’s shimmering waters are visible throughout most of the property. Guests are just down the road from the equally historic Mission Point Lighthouse, which is an excellent place for a photo op or to just relax and take in Grand Traverse Bay. Rooms are affordable, clean, and updated to provide modern comfort in a historic setting.
Stay Downtown Traverse City
Park Place Hotel
Few images are more recognizable as distinctly Traverse City as the green roof that adorns the top of the Park Place Hotel. Located in the heart of downtown Traverse City, the Park Place offers stunning views of our little town that few other venues can boast of. Guests couldn’t be closer to the restaurants, bars, beaches and events taking place in TC. Everyone who has visited Traverse City knows that the ability to walk downtown, versus fighting traffic and finding parking, is a luxury worth looking into. Summer rates vary, but look to spend $200 per night or more during the summer months.
Located in the newly renovated Warehouse District, Hotel Indigo drew the worries of the locals when it was proposed and being built. We needn’t have worried – the hotel looks gorgeous and fits right in along with the other businesses in our quaint downtown. The view from the roof is second to none, as it overlooks the volleyball courts and sandy beaches of West End Beach. The rooftop is a bar, in true Traverse City form, and the sunsets have single-handedly caused Instagram outages due to the frequency and volume of uploads. Rooms start at about $275 a night during the summer months, but are well worth the price, given the views, close proximity to first-class shopping and restaurants that guests enjoy.
