We’re Looking for Tour Guides for Summer!

What if I told you that we had openings for what can only be described the best job in the world? You’d be thrilled, I imagine. Perhaps even giddy. Well, it’s true! Traverse City Wine and Beer Tours is looking for a few smiling, happy folks to show our guests around the most beautiful place in the world – Northern Michigan. If you’re on the fence about applying, let me give you a few reasons why being a driver on our tours is the best decision you could possibly make in your entire life.

Your Office is Huge

Sick of your windowless cubicle? How about a full-time or part-time job where your office is the entire Leelanau or Old Mission Peninsula? Our tours take in the most stunning vistas in Northern Michigan, and visit some of the finest vineyards and breweries in the area. Whether you’re driving a black, tinted Mercedes Benz or a tie-dyed school bus, suffice it to say your office is exponentially more interesting than your cubicle.

The People are Absolutely Wonderful

Your guests are going to be happy by default. After all, they’re on a tour in Traverse Michigan, enjoying the finest adult beverages in the world. They just want a knowledgeable guide to show them the area, tell them about some local wines and brews, and get them home safely for their dinner reservations. And then there’s the owners of the outfit. Tim and Jody Pease are the nicest people on the planet. If Mother Theresa had children, they’d only be half as nice as Tim and Jody. They’re such cool, hip people that you’ll want to work for them for free. But guess what, they want to pay you!

Compensation and Scheduling

Pay is based on an hourly rate, plus you get to keep all of the tip money you earn. How much you make depends on how much you want to work. With something like 150 tours per week, you can work almost as much as you’d like. Want a weekend off? Cool. Want to work doubles all weekend to pay for your cashmere sweater addition? Great! Within reason, you pretty much work when you want, and enjoy summer in Traverse City the rest of the time.

Who We’re Looking For

Obviously, we can’t have just anyone drive for us. We’re looking to work with happy, smiling, outgoing people who have a passion for Northern Michigan, and want to share that passion with people from around the country. Functioning knowledge of wine and/or beer is always a plus, but not necessarily required. If you fit this description, our Fearless Leaders would love to hear from you. You should contact Tim at tim@wineandbeertours.com to introduce yourself, and arrange for a time to have him buy you a coffee to see if it’s a good fit.
