The Story of Suttons Bay Ciders
Suttons Bay Ciders was started just a few years ago by Mark and Madelynn Korzon. After selling their landscaping business in Ann Arbor they started their new adventure together and opened a Northern Michigan Hard Cidery on Leelanau Peninsula. Suttons Bay Ciders may be one of the newest drinking establishments on Leelanau Peninsula but it is quickly becoming the “place to be”. Their location is up on Hilltop Road off of M22 and they take the cake for the best view of West Bay.
The awesome owners, beautiful view and great cider might be enough to get you to visit but there’s one more surprise, the cider house dog, Gordie. Gordie has become quite the celebrity at Suttons Bay Ciders. If you’re up for it you can play fetch with him and enjoy a cider at the same time! He’s super sweet and follows Mark everywhere he goes.
The Cider
We love taking everyone to Suttons Bay Ciders for multiple reasons, but one of our favorites is to watch someone who claims they aren’t a cider drinker, turn into a cider lover. More often than not some people have only tried something like an Angry Orchard cider and don’t know how wonderful cider can be. Then they end up leaving with a growler!
Depending on the time of year there are typically 8-10 ciders to try and they have a great variety ranging from dry to sweet. You can even have a flight of all of them to try! Our personal favorites are Testamint , Power Island, Cherry Fest and Mosaic.
Their cider is also available in howlers and growlers so you can take them home to enjoy!
As of this summer they are now bottling some of their cider as well!
The View
We are sure you noticed that gorgeous view from some of the previous pictures and we’ve just got to show you more! You can enjoy your tasting at the bar or head out to the deck to enjoy your cider and be wowed by the stunning views of West Bay and Power Island!
If you are up for a game of Cornhole head out back and check out their awesome set up behind the tasting room. They’ll even have the fire going on colder days!
One of our favorite things about Suttons Bay Ciders is it’s beautiful here all year round!

How do I get to Suttons Bay Ciders?
Here is the best part! Don’t worry about driving the 20 minutes up to the tasting room, call us! We will pick you up from your Traverse City area hotel or rental, 7 days a week. Then, we will drive you up to Suttons Bay Ciders to enjoy their wonderful cider and tasting room.
