February Wine and Beer Events in Traverse City!

February is a month for love, chocolate, and most especially, wine! Fortunately for us, we have ample amounts of all of those special things to go around in the month ahead. With Valentine’s Day events, 1-year anniversary parties, and local brewery competitions taking place in Traverse City over the course of the next few weeks, we guarantee there’s a reason for you to get excited for a trip to Traverse City! Here are the February Wine and Beer Events coming up.

Taproot Cider House One Year Anniversary Party – January 28th

It’s hard to believe that Taproot Cider House has only been part of downtown Traverse City for a year. They’ve quickly become a second home for many locals and a favorite for dining and libations among tourists. Taproot made our Favorite Restaurants page, and we’d put them on there twice if we could. On January 28th, head to Taproot for live music by Sharp Edges at 4pm, as well as crowd favorite May Erlewine from 7pm-10pm. Check out their new menu release, as well as tapas specials made just for the celebration. There’s even a champagne toast to thank guests for an incredible year of business in Traverse City!

2017 Traverse City Stout Challenge  at The Little Fleet – February 3rd

On 2/3, it’s going down. Find out who has the best stout beer in Traverse City by attending the TC Stout Challenge! All of the best breweries will have their top stouts on offer to see who will take home the coveted crown. Look for submissions from The Filling Station, Rare Bird, and Short’s to be very competitive. But we shouldn’t count out the newcomers to town, the freshly opened folks at Earthen Ales could come up with a shock upset over their more established brewery brethren. Tickets are $30 each, and they’re expected to go fast.

Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail’s Taste the Passion – February 11 & 12

Love is in the air, but it’ll mostly be concentrated in Leelanau County on 2/11 and 2/12. Book a tour with your loved ones for a day or two of fine wine and delicious small plates at wineries across Leelanau. Tickets are $35 here, and you can get your transportation squared away in just a few clicks. Guests receive a commemorative wine glass and opportunities to win prizes at each stop. I can’t imagine a better way to enjoy some love and warmth during the winter season!

Sip with Your Sweetheart  at Bonobo Winery – February 14th

Gentlemen, listen up. Bonobo is offering up a romantic evening with your significant other for just $25. They’re offering a cheese and charcuterie board, two glasses of wine, chocolate truffles, and a red rose – all for $25. They’re taking care of the cooking, the cleaning, and providing an incredibly romantic evening that your gal will love – all you have to do it put on deodorant and a clean shirt! Get in touch with the friendly folks at Bonobo if you have any questions.

Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula’s Romancing the Riesling – February 18th

The February love fest continues with the Traverse City tradition of Romancing the Riesling. Old Mission Peninsula serves as the host for a day of exquisite pairings of selections from OMP wineries and restaurants. Get a ride to make sure you can enjoy the ample opportunities to enjoy the best wine and delicacies in the north! Tickets are $20 each and are expected to sell out quickly, so make sure you get yours today.

The Vineyard Race at 45 North Vineyard & Winery

Up north, we don’t let a little snow keep us inside, and we especially don’t let it keep us off of our bicycles. 45 North maintains a winter recreation trail that hosts one of the most fun fat bike races in the area. Fat bike racing at the vineyard is extremely viewer-friendly because you get to see the riders on a majority of the course. Obviously, it’s also friendly because you can watch with a glass of wine! Racing starts around 10am. Come on out to cheer on friends or to give fat biking a try for yourself!

I hope we’ve given you enough reasons to come see us in Traverse City this February! If you have any questions about our services, please get in touch today. You can also check out some places we’d recommend you staying and eating during your stay. Let’s make February a great month!
