Tips for a Romantic Valentine’s Day in Traverse City

Guys, this blog is really for you. With a busy schedule and that Super Bowl thingy occupying most of your time and concentration recently, you may be have neglected (or forgotten entirely) that Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Yes, it’s Tuesday, February 14th. All day. Write it down.

If you’re scrambling to put together an evening worthy of your special someone, we’re here to help. Here are just a few ideas to help you put together an evening that will seem like weeks in the making to your significant other.

Book a Traverse City Wine Tour

We won’t apologize for the shameless self-promotion. Why do all the work when you can have someone else plan your wine tour, handle the transportation, and make you look like Don Juan? All you have to do is shower and dress nicely and you’re going to be thanked relentlessly for the incredibly special night. Almost no work and all the credit? You’re welcome!

Make the Extra Effort

Some people say that it’s the thought that counts. That’s sort of just saying that you tried, but you messed up. On Valentine’s Day, go the extra mile, guys. Get a haircut. Put on a new shirt – or at least a clean one. Deodorant and a dab (not a dousing) of cologne goes a lot farther than you think in impressing your gal. Even if you can’t fit in a wine tour on Valentine’s Day or the following weekend, whenever you share your special night, be sure to put your best foot forward in appearance.

The Most Important Gift

Here’s one of the most important things you can do on your big night: turn your phone off. Seriously. How many times have you been out to dinner and have seen couples on their phones instead of talking to each other? It’s sad, isn’t it? And it’s just as sad when you do it. You have no idea just how positive of a reaction you’ll get when you shut your phone off and bury it in your pocket for the evening. Giving your date your full attention is probably the most romantic and intimate thing you can do.

Drink Traverse City Wine

If you can’t make a wine and beer tour with us happen, no worries. Totally cool. But that shouldn’t mean you deprive your date of the best wine in the world. Between places like Brys EstateBowers Harbor Vineyard, Good Harbor Vineyards, and Bonobo Winery, you should have no problem picking up the perfect wine for your date’s tastes. If you need any help at all picking out a wine for your special night, we’d be happy to lend a hand. Just leave us a note in the comments on Facebook or Instagram and we’ll get you fixed up!

There are also plenty of outdoor winter activities that you can try for Valentine’s Day, and most of them pair excellently with wine. Funny how everything pairs well with wine, isn’t it?
